I heard a song on the radio the other day that I hadn’t heard since I was a child, called “Sing A Rainbow” and it made me think of how a rainbow is a wonderful analogy for making ice cream.

Here’s what I mean …. the song’s lyrics include the line:

“red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue, I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too”

Red, yellow, pink, green, orange, purple and blue - you can make ice cream in all these colors:

red
cherry ice cream

pink
strawberry ice cream

green
pistachio ice cream

orange
orange sorbet

purple
prune ice cream

blue
blueberry yoghurt ice cream

Next time someone remarks on seeing a beautiful rainbow, tell them it’s an icecreambow too!
